2008 NHL Playoffs - Round 1: Montreal Canadiens vs. Boston Bruins Game 6 Preview
April 19th 2008 21:25
Crunchtime Part 2.
I'm a nervous wreck. Two hours until Game 6 and I'm already shaking. This is it for Montreal and its fans. If the Habs win, the Bruins go golfing. If the Bruins win, we'll have seventh game here in Montreal, with a hot Boston team who just won't give up.
First, the good news. The Habs can't play any worse than they did on Thursday. Now, they really know what to expect. Lady Luck won't let you steal a game anymore, you have to earn it. Captain K is back. He'll probably have some trouble keeping up with the intensity but at least we have a potent second line. I hope that Michael Ryder will be the one sitting out because, right now, he's pretty useless. Frankie the Bull is also back, our third D pairing will now have a veteran to help out. I wonder who is gonna get scratched on defense. O.B. doesn't have any experience but he's big. Georges is smaller but makes better outlet passes. This one is up to the coach.
Now, the bad news. The Bruins completely destroyed the Canadiens two days ago and now, the balance of momentum has shifted towards Boston. They know they can beat Montreal while the Habs are putting much effort in their game. Claude Julien has already made an upset two years ago when he was coaching Montreal. His squad eliminated Boston after being down 3-1. Talk about coincidences. So the Bs' coach knows what it takes to win and his team won't hesitate to give their 110%.
We'll see how this one unfolds. Until then, I'll be posting an update on the other series since there were a couple of games last night.
