Eastern Conference:
The Capitals seem to have found the magic recipe to beat the Flyers. Washington won Game 5 by the score of 3-2. Philadelphia leads the series 3-2.
In the battle between the city and the suburbs, the New York Rangers defeated the New Jersey Devils for the fourth time by the score of 5-3. The Devils are out. The Rangers go through to the second round with a record of 4-1.
Western Conference:
The high-flying Wings have been having trouble putting away the underrated Predators. The Wings won Game 5 in OT by the score of 2-1. Detroit now leads the series 3-2.
Defending Cup champions, the Anaheim Ducks, show signs of life after steam-rolling the Stars 5-2. The Dallas Stars lead the series 3-2 but now the heat is on them.
The Penguins and the Rangers are the only teams through to the second round so far.
