2008 NHL Playoffs - Round 1: Pittsburg Penguins vs. Ottawa Senators Game 2 Preview

April 11th 2008 18:22
Tonight, the Pittsburgh Penguins have the opportunity to take a 2-0 lead on the hapless Senators. Coming out of a 4-0 victory in the first game, the Pens will look to their offense to continue generating scoring chances. Defensively, discipline will be Michel Therrien's squad main objective as they seemed to rely on Fleury's strong play in the last game and took far too many penalties.

Bryan Murray only wants one thing out of his team: goals, lots and lots of them. For a team who finished first (or second, it depends if you count OT and shootout goals) in the Goals Scored category, their offense has been truly depressing lately. It shows how much Alfredsson is needed in the lineup. In goal, Martin Gerber has to regain his confidence, and not give too many rebounds (or at least, control the rebounds).

The Sens need this victory more than the Pens. The team who truly wants this game will come out on top.
